Pre-Fall 2023 Collection
“I'll never look like Barbie. Barbie doesn't have bruises.”
- Nancy Spungen, Sid Vicious’s lover.
A message of love and self-confidence. With a touch of innocent anarchy. For the Pre-Fall 2023 season, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini portrays the multifaceted attitude of an independent, empowered woman who is not afraid to dare. The brand’s signature feminine romanticism meets a new slickness, resulting into shrunken, elongated silhouettes. The latest runway show’s 90s vibe returns, embodied by the tad androgynous, effortless beauty of model Louise Robert.
A sexy attitude stands out. Babydoll-inspired frocks are layered over slick tulle flared pants, and seethrough draped dresses reveal sensual cut-outs. Military references sneak in with cargo pockets popping up on the stretch fitted pants, while a glamours vibe is injected into plush maxi cardigans, bralettes and mini dresses worked in sorbet tones and punctuated by sparkling crystals. Precise tailoring gets a sensual treatment with cropped blazers featuring straps to wrap around the waist. Their mannish attitude creates a charming contrast with the quintessentially feminine attitude of velvet or jersey dresses enriched with pristine white collars. Along with leopard patterns and artsy floral motifs with a dark vibe, an allover graphic “I love you” print steals the spotlight adding a positive, optimistic message to the collection. Exalting the lineup’s sharp feel, slick pointed slingbacks and pumps complete the looks, along with the new Mini Cube bag. The Philosophy iconic flower pins are crafted from more traditional fabrics or unexpected vinyl for a punk-ish touch.
